Did you know that...

Uganda has no universal social security system for older persons.

Over one million seniors in Uganda live in poverty, loneliness, isolation and hopelessness.

Due to poverty, rural urban migration, conflict, illness, death of the middle generation, the social structure of children taking care of their parents in old age has collapsed.

Older persons are among the poorest in Uganda with 64% of them living on less than US$ 1 per day.

ROTOM works hard

• To improve the emotional and physical health of older persons.
• To lessen the burden of dependents on older persons by supporting grandchildren under their care.
• To increase awareness of rights, responsibilities and needs of older persons and restore their dignity.
• To promote spiritual growth of older persons and those under their care
• To build and effective, sustainalbe and life-long learning organization.
